Back to the 80s

Project Information

Back to the 80s was a fundraiser that aimed to unite the school community with a throwback film while raising funds towards an elderly home visit in the very same month. This was phase one of the elderly home visit project, where we used the funds raised by the movie day to donate dry rations to the support the needs of the elderly.

Through the "Back to the 80s" fundraiser, we were able to acknowledge the need for funding and donations in many elderly homes. Many elderly citizens of Sri Lanka are left abandoned and forgotten by society once they are unable to take care of themselves. Due to this, many of them are highly reliant on organisations such as "Grace Perera" to become their new home. Through the fundraiser the members of the Leo club were able to understand how much of value dry rations and donations are to those in need.
