The Beginning

The LEO Club of Ethos International College was founded in 2022 with a vision of empowering young leaders driven to serve their communities. Our founding members, led by the inaugural president, Rachel Desilva, shared a passion for making a meaningful impact through leadership, integrity, and proactive service. Their vision and enthusiasm laid the groundwork for a club that has already achieved notable milestones, from impactful projects to local recognition. Their legacy of service, still vibrant in every member, shapes the club’s journey forward.

Guided by Core Values

Central to the LEO Club of Ethos are the values of leadership, service, and community engagement. These principles guide each activity and project, allowing members to grow as they contribute to a vision of a better future. From planning community events to organizing projects, members are constantly encouraged to embody these values. For instance, our commitment to community engagement shines through in projects like the Children’s Day celebration for Sobhitha Maha Vidyalaya in Rajagiriya, where we created joyful memories for young children. Whether it’s organizing a day filled with games and treats or mentoring each other, the club lives by its values in everything it does.

Key Milestones and Achievements

In a short span of time, the LEO Club of EIC has accomplished significant milestones and earned accolades that reflect our mission's success. Among these achievements, we take pride in receiving awards like “Most Outstanding School LEO Club” and “Most Outstanding Club President” for Rachel Desilva in 2022/2023, and recognition as the “Most Outstanding New LEO Club.” Projects like the Suwa Arana Cancer Center initiative, where we engaged kids in origami and art therapy, stand as testaments to the club’s commitment to bringing joy and support to those in need. During that visit, we donated essential supplies, including colored A4 sheets, and contributed a cash donation of Rs.31,000 to aid in their healing journey.

Another impactful project was our Beach Cleanup, which tackled pollution affecting Sri Lanka’s coastal ecosystems. This project not only helped restore the natural beauty of our beaches but also fostered environmental responsibility within the community. Each piece of litter collected symbolized our commitment to a cleaner, healthier coastal space for everyone.
