TIDES OF CHANGE

A Beach clean up Organized by the leo club of Ethos IC.

Project Information

The Leo Club of Ethos International College organized a beach cleanup at Wellawatte Beach to combat coastal pollution and promote environmental sustainability. The event brought together students, staff, and community members to remove plastic, glass, and other debris, restoring the beach’s natural beauty. Participants segregated waste for recycling and proper disposal, while engaging beachgoers to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining clean coastlines. This initiative not only revitalized a vital public space but also fostered teamwork and environmental responsibility among participants, laying the foundation for future conservation efforts.

The Beach Cleanup aimed to improve environmental awareness and create a cleaner, safer beach by involving students, locals, and eco-conscious individuals in removing plastic and other waste. The project emphasized sustainability and responsible environmental practices.

The cleanup addressed growing pollution along the coastline from human activity, tourism, and improper waste disposal. This waste harmed local wildlife, polluted water and soil, and diminished the beach’s appeal to both residents and tourists.
